Southern California Quarterly
The quarterly journal published by the Historical Society of Southern California has a long and distinguished history.  Beginning in 1884, one year after the the Society was founded, HSSC began to issue an Annual Publication.  In 1935 a quarterly journal was launched.  As a respected historical resource, the Southern California Quarterly continues its commitment to scholarship, public awareness and appreciation of local history into the present day.
The Southern California Quarterly is a scholarly journal devoted to the publication of articles and edited documents relating to the history of the Southern California, California as a whole, and the Far West. The Quarterly welcomes contributions, not only by Society members, scholars, and research workers in the history of the Far west, but also by persons who are working in related disciplines and professions.
Authors whose articles are accepted for publication receive seven reprints without cost. Authors are offered the opportunity to order additional copies at rates quoted by the printer.

Articles for consideration should be typed in 12 point font, double-spaced, with consecutively-numbered notes in a separate section following the text, also double-spaced.  In matters of style, the Quarterly adheres to the University of Chicago Press Manual of Style (15th ed.). Articles should be submitted by mail in two copies, one without the author's name, accompanied by a digital file (on disk or as an e-mail attachment), and a large self-addressed, stamped envelope for the material's return.  Proposed illustrations should be submitted initially in photocopied form.
